Ferguson To Retire As Manchester United Manager
Man Utd confirm manager Sir Alex Ferguson is stepping down after 26 years in charge to become club director and ambassador
Ferguson, the longest-serving manager in Manchester United history, is also one of the most decorated managers in British soccer history. With United, he’s won the Premier League 13 times, the FA Cup five times, the League Cup four times and the European Champions League twice. The club has not yet announced a successor for the managerial role.
“The quality of this league winning squad, and the balance of ages within it, bodes well for continued success at the highest level whilst the structure of the youth set-up will ensure that the long-term future of the club remains a bright one,” said Ferguson.
