Google says it has been forced to delete 260,000 links by legislation

Yeah,it got a point when the governement through the Minister of Information Technology instructed and insisted that all MDAs should integrate their domain name from example.com to example.gov.ng.I guess that was when some people realized that Google has been making billions from other people's content. Websites Google indexes belong to other people and companies. The content of Youtube (who is owned by Google) is uploaded by other people, yet Google earn billions from advertising revenue. Everyone of those people are content providers are is a slave to Google, by lining Google's pockets for free.
Google has revealed the full extent of its 'right to be forgotten' operation, disclosing that it has removed over 260,000 links from search results.

The European Court of Justice ruled in May that Google must remove links to websites that include content that is 'inadequate, irrelevant or no longer relevant'. However, the ruling has been criticised by Culture Secretary Sajid Javid, who said that criminals were using it to hide their murky pasts.
The search giant admitted this week that so far there had been 216,810 requests for web links to be removed. This resulted in 783,510 links being reviewed and 262,280 hidden from internet users.
So far Google's service is restricted to its European versions, although EU data protection watchdogs want to make it global as the deleted results could be seen if a user was to switch to the .com search engine.
