Heartbroken husband 'killed himself' just hours after his wife of 15 years

What turned to be a movie is now a reality in our own eyes.I read the story from daily mail and I felt I should share it to my lovely readers. Is about a  devoted husband is believed to have killed himself just a few hours after his beloved wife died from a debilitating lung condition.
This is a kind of double tragedy just like the story of Romeo and Juliet in a movie titled "Titanic".
Adrian Cross had never spent a night apart from his wife Tammy since they married 15 years ago, and nursed her through her illness for nine months.
She died aged 37 at home in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales on October 8, weighing no more than six stone - and hours later, Mr Cross, 45, was found dead of a suspected overdose.Relatives said the couple were 'completely devoted' to one another, and wrote each other love letters all the time they were living together.
Mrs Cross's mother added that Adrian 'did everything' for his wife and cared for her family.
The couple, who had no children, married in the Dominican Republic in 1998 before returning home to Wales for a blessing and reception.
Mr Cross worked for Merthyr Tydfil council, and like his wife was an enthusiastic supporter of Liverpool FC.
Mrs Cross, a huge film fan, worked at a local fish 'n' chip shop before giving up work to care for her father, David Allan Jones.
'In all the years they were together, they had never spent a night apart,' said Mr Jones, 65. 'They were completely devoted to each other.
'Their love was so strong that if they went out, they would write love notes to each other. We have found them all around the house. I have never seen love like it and I don't think I ever will again.
'Adrian always said that if anything ever happened to her he would be straight behind her.'
Mrs Cross's mother Phyllis Jones, 61, added: 'We called her angel. You can't imagine losing your daughter before you. I don't know how I am going to cope.
'Adrian was a son to us. He did everything for our Tammy. He looked after her and my family.'
Mr Cross's sister, Yvonne Thornley, said: 'They were a devoted couple and just lived for one another. It's very sad for all of us.
'They were both lovely people and we will miss them terribly. They were so in love from the day they met.'
More than 1,000 friends and family members attended the couple's funeral at a local church on October 21, when six white doves were released into the air following the ceremony.
Well-wishers left tributes on to the pair on Facebook - niece Sophie Jones wrote: 'Love and miss my auntie and uncle loads. Really don't know how I'm going to get over the fact I won't see you.'
An inquest into Mr Cross's death has been opened, but was adjourned by pending the results of toxicology reports.

Delivery driver stabbed to death minutes before finishing last ever shift

I believe God speaks to human in different ways, most times, at a soft-low voice but due to human factors, we get distracted.I know of a man who was unwilling to go out one faithful day but he received a telephone call from a friend asking for assistance, on his way to satisfy his friend, he met his untimely death. This story also related to Mr. Peiris according to daily mail report.

A pizza delivery driver found stabbed to death was about to finish his last ever shift after landing his dream job as an IT consultant.
University graduate Thavisha Lakindu Peiris, 25, had already officially finished work but took on two extra deliveries to help his boss out in Sheffield on Sunday.

It has been revealed the hard-working Sri Lankan had told his boss he felt unwell and wanted to finish work early, but his boss persuaded him to take on two extra jobs.

Mr Peiris studied IT at Sheffield Hallam University and had taken on the driving job while he was looking for work in the industry.
He left Domino's Pizza in Halifax Road at 9.50pm on Sunday, but when he failed to deliver the pizza on time his workmates went to find him and discovered his body slumped over the wheel of his Toyota Yaris car in Southey, at 10.30pm.
His distraught boss Ravi Marripidi said: 'I feel really guilty that I asked him to make those last two deliveries.
'He wanted to go home, but I asked him to make two last deliveries near each other.I have not been able to sleep since.
'Thavisha keeps coming into my dreams.'
A post mortem examination confirmed Thavisha, who was found outside his last delivery address in Southey Crescent, died from stab wounds.
Thavisha, a Buddhist from the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, lived in the Fir Vale area of the city and had worked for the pizza shop for two years after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a software engineering degree.
Mr Marripidi added: 'He moved here to study and for a better life, which is the irony.
'He was a very soft man and a very kind person.
'He was not aggressive, he did not argue with anyone, he just got on with his job.'
A murder squad of 50 police officers are now searching for the killers, but no motive has been found for the murder and three 16-year-old boys who were arrested and questioned have been released without charge.
Det Supt Lisa Ray, of South Yorkshire Police, who is leading the inquiry said: 'Thavisha was a bright, hard-working, intelligent and caring man who had worked hard to develop his career in Sheffield.
'His murder is an absolute tragedy and has caused untold grief for his mother, father and brother in Sri Lanka, and for his many friends.
'Everything we have learned suggests he was a career-minded, articulate and friendly young man who was very much planning his future.
'I need to hear from anyone who knows anything about his murder.
'We know he set off in his car from Domino’s at 9.50pm on Sunday to make that last delivery.
'At 10.30pm he was found dead in his car parked outside the address he was delivering to.
'It is urgent that anyone who saw him, or his car, or anything they now regard as suspicious, comes forward without delay.
'A family is grieving for a young man whose life was taken from him in the most brutal of fashions, and we owe it to them to find those responsible.'
In a press conference today Det Supt Ray added: 'He started his degree course at university in Sri Lanka and completed it in Sheffield, funded by his parents and he graduated in 2012.
'He spoke to his mother everyday, they are a very close family. He worked as part time pizza delivery driver to help fund his education.
There was a genuine call for a pizza but it was never delivered. Staff couldn't find him and they discovered him slumped in his car with stab wounds.
'It's horrendous that this sort of thing should happen. We haven't got a motive for it, Thavisha was nice boy and there was no reason to believe that anyone would have any issue with him. He was not the sort of person who would get into trouble.
'He was going about his business and somebody has attacked without any reason. He had got himself a good degree and was about to start a job as an IT consultant in Sheffield.
'It's tragic because with most murders they are committed by someone known to the victim and usually there is a motive. With this one we don't know why somebody would want to do this.
'He spoke to his mother every day and I am just appealing to any mother or anyone else out there. They know whose has done this and they need to come forward and tell us.'
Thavisha’s family in Sri Lanka were yesterday making plans to travel to Sheffield.
The killing on Sunday night bears tragic similarities to the murder of pizza shop worker Zabi Rafiq, stabbed to death in 2011 in a botched robbery for his takings on Gleadless Valley.
He had moved to Sheffield from Afghanistan hoping for a better life.
And in 2009 Safrajur Jahangir, 23, was shot dead at the wheel of his car while delivering an Indian takeaway on Scraith Wood Drive, Shirecliffe. Nobody was convicted.
The best option is to listen to your mind and don't be in a hurry.

footballer committed suicide after failing to get a professional contract and being dropped by club

Employers and top managers should learn how to respect, motivate, recognize and be proud of their employee. It is very paramount to do these because, it goes a long way in balancing the health  of individual psychologically.
A talented striker who spiralled into depression after being dropped by a Premier League football club took his own life an inquest heard.
Josh Lyons, 26, from Crawley East Sussex, was picked for the Tottenham Hotspur youth side as a schoolboy and was thrilled to be playing for the team he supported.
But after working for three years to get a professional contract, he was released by the London side aged just 16 leaving him ‘feeling like a failure.’
At an inquest into his death a coroner condemned the lack of support he received from the top London club.
Mr Lyons went on  to have spells at other youth sides, but didn't have the same passion and enthusiasm for football and started to suffer from anxiety which left him unable to go out with friends.
The inquest, in Horsham, West Sussex, heard how after suffering years of depression, Mr Lyons ended his life on a railway line near Ifield West Sussex after telling his parents he was going for a run in March this year.
Speaking at the inquest last week, assistant deputy coroner Karen Henderson criticised the sport saying that professional clubs should do more to support young footballers.
Depression in football was brought to the nation's attention when Gary Speed committed suicide

She said: 'It was that pivotal point that crushed a young man's life and all the dreams that go with it.
'That one moment I find was the single most important factor that led to the events that ended up on the train tracks.
'It is very difficult to build up the hopes of a young man only then to have them dashed at a young age. It is very cruel.
'I find there was an absence and lack of support in football.'
The inquest heard how Josh started his junior career with Wimbledon, before being spotted by Spurs.
After the rejection he sunk into depression, and had to come home from traveling in Thailand because he felt so unwell.
In 2008 he visited a GP saying that he had been having thoughts of suicide. He was referred to a counsellor and was treated with medication and therapy for four years.
Mr Lyons was hit by a train on the main London Victoria to Portsmouth line.
Speaking after the inquest his devastated father Liam, 57, said: 'By playing for Spurs, who he supported, Josh was fulfilling every boy's dream.
'But he was released after three years and it was a massive blow to his self-esteem and self-confidence.
'Josh felt as though he  was a failure.'
Spurs also offered their condolences to the family, and said that more is now being done to support players who don't make the grade.
A spokesman said: ''Club support mechanisms have evolved considerably in the past decade.
'We place a strong emphasis on creating a safe environment where our players are able to discuss any kind of issue

with academy staff as well as employing a strong pastoral team to work with our coaches and host families in terms of caring for our young players.
'We also fully support Premier League workshops that promote positive mental health and encourage emotional well-being.
'The club is committed to giving support to youngsters beyond their playing time with us, assisting in planning for their futures by offering support and advice in terms of further education, vocational work or even in helping them to try and find a new club.
'We are deeply saddened to hear of Josh’s passing and extend our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.'
The death comes at a time where depression in football has arisen as a major issue in the beautiful game.
In November 2011 former Newcastle United, Everton and Leeds star Gary Speed hanged himself after a long struggle with depression.
Former Norwich City striker Leon McKenzie also tried to kill himself after a serious injury coincided with the the breakdown of his marriage and family.
And in 2009 German international goalkeeper Robert Enke also took his own life after a struggle with depression.

A pensioner who beat his wife to death with his walking stick

A pensioner who beat his wife to death with his walking stick after a row about the heating has been jailed for five years.
Douglas Bailey, 79, was obsessed with money, even though he had tens of thousands of pounds in savings.
He clubbed his 82-year-old wife Hazel 22 times around the head and neck and punched her so hard her false teeth fell out.
He was furious because she had turned the central heating on when it was only early September, police sources said.
It is believed Mrs Bailey had been dead for two days by the time her body was found after the attack last year.
The couple’s window cleaner raised the alarm when Bailey answered the door in blood-stained pyjamas, a court heard yesterday.
He alerted a neighbour who went round to check up on the couple.
At first Bailey lied that his wife was at a friend’s house, but eventually admitted: ‘It’s Hazel. She’s dead. I have killed her.’
The couple had been married for 45 years and did not have any children. They lived in Winsford, Cheshire, in a bungalow Bailey had built himself.
The retired joiner, who was later diagnosed as being in the early stages of dementia, looked confused yesterday as a judge said his crime was so serious he had no choice but to send him to prison, despite his age.
‘It is a tragedy to see you here at your age and that your wife of so many years is dead at your hands,’ Judge Elgin Edwards told him. ‘This was a brutal attack on a vulnerable old lady of nearly 83 years.’
Plea: Bailey denied murder on the grounds that he was suffering from dementia
Plea: Bailey denied murder on the grounds that he was suffering from dementia
The couple used be ‘well turned out’ and keep their home spotless, Chester Crown Court was told.
In recent years, however, they had been in declining health and struggled to look after themselves.
Mrs Bailey had sciatica and needed help getting about, but her husband had shown little sympathy, neighbours later told police.
Mrs Bailey had also been seen with bruises, apparently inflicted by her husband, but police had not been informed and the ‘proud’ couple had rejected help from social services.
Simon Medland QC, prosecuting, said Bailey’s concern about the heating was part of an obsession with saving money.
He added: ‘Whilst they had not much by way of income, they had tens of thousands of pounds in shares, owned their bungalow outright, which is a valuable, substantial property, and £68,000 in bank cash.’
Bailey was in custody for more than a year while experts compiled reports on his mental health, finally concluding he had been suffering from dementia.
As a result, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Mr Medland said the killing would otherwise have been ‘a grave case of murder, involving the killing of an 82-year-old woman by protracted, substantial violence’.
He added: ‘She must have known it was her husband inflicting the injuries on her and it was plain death was far from instantaneous.’

Girl, 13, digs herself out of a shallow grave after she is raped and buried alive by two men in Pakistan

A teenage girl dug herself out of shallow grave after she was raped by two men and buried alive.
The 13-year-old was snatched while walking to Koran lessons from her local village in Punjab and raped by the men in an isolated area.
Her attackers then buried her alive when they thought that she had died during the assault.
But she regained consciousness and managed to dig her way out of the muddy grave and flag down a passerby.
She was taken to a medical centre and survived her horrific ordeal.
According to the New York Post, her father Siddique Mughal told local police that his daughter had been taken.
But they initially refused to investigate the incident.
But they were ordered to arrest the girl's alleged attackers by the Lahore High Court Chief Justice's Complaint Cell.
Justice: Gang-rape victim Kainat Soomro was labelled a 'black virgin' and shunned by her rural village after she accused her alleged attackers
Another victim: 2007 Gang-rape victim Kainat Soomro was labelled a 'black virgin' and shunned by her rural village after she accused her alleged attackers
A judge from the Toba Tek Sing area, where the attack took place, has also been asked to investigate the matter.
Child rape is becoming increasingly problematic in Pakistan.
According to Pakistani children's charity Sahil, the number of children raped between 2002 and 2012 increased from 668 to 2,788.
One of the most notable cases was that of Kainat Soomro who was attacked by four men when she was aged just 13 in 2007.
She was shunned by her village after speaking out against her attackers and was labelled a 'kari' or 'black virgin'.
Despite her own family being ordered to kill her to rid themselves of shame, they stood by her despite threats of violence against them.
Her father and one of her brothers were beaten, and another older brother went missing and was later found murdered.
Despite her quest for justice, her alleged attackers were eventually acquitted.
She told the Press earlier this year that her family have 'lost everything'.

'It has taken me a long, long time to get it to 14 feet. It's not been an easy task.'
Chauhan started growing his moustache during his late teens.
'I haven't used a shaving blade on my moustache, or trimmed them since 1970,' he said.
'The moustache is the symbol of pride and respect. In ancient India, a moustache meant everything.
'It is priceless. It's a man thing.'
Chauhan, whose feat has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records, is still cultivating his tash, but its growth has slowed drastically in recent years.

Innocent man burned to death by vigilante neighbours who mistook him for paedophile

An innocent man was kicked and beaten unconscious before being burned to death by vigilante neighbours who mistakenly believed he was a paedophile.
Bijan Ebrahimi, 44, took a series of photographs of local youths attacking his hanging baskets and intended to hand the film to police as evidence.

But someone saw him with the camera and told police that Mr Ebrahimi, who was registered disabled and couldn't work, had taken inappropriate pictures of children.

Officers took him away for questioning and as Mr Ebrahimi was taken from his council flat in Brislington, Bristol, residents began chanting 'paedo, paedo'.

He was quizzed at a police station but officers soon realised the mistake and Mr Ebrahimi was released from custody.

But rumours had already begun circulating in the local community that he was a child abuser and he was murdered two days later.

Husband, 46, killed by his wife's homemade curry after suffering

Husband, 46, killed by his wife's homemade curry after suffering major allergic reaction to coconut cream.A man collapsed and died after suffering an allergic reaction to his wife's homemade coconut curry.
Marcus Sweet, 46, returned from work feeling fine to find his wife Julie preparing Indian food for their evening meal.
She gave him a small amount of her coconut cream to taste and within minutes he complained of a sore throat.
Mr Sweet, a cleaning supervisor, took some Calpol and Beechams as he started struggling to breathe, but his condition worsened and Julie called an ambulance.
Mrs Sweet, of Stapleton, Bristol, told Flax Bourton Coroner's Court: 'He was looking a little bit clammy and a bit different. I told him he was starting to scare me.
'He said his throat was really sore and asked me to take him to hospital. I called an ambulance immediately.'
A paramedic arrived within four minutes of her call, but Mr Sweet's airwaves were closing and he began to turn blue.
Before he could be treated, he suffered a cardiac arrest and died, despite the arrival of more paramedics and an ambulance.
The inquest heard that Mr Sweet, who had one infant daughter, Courtney, had eaten coconut before but not coconut cream.
His family accused Mr Vic Ward, the first responder who treated Mr Sweet, of failing to act properly to save his life in November 2011.
They claimed that Mr Ward ‘just sat there’ and the paramedic admitted to the coroner: 'This was possibly one of the worst incidents I have ever attended in my 30 years of work.
'I think I was a bit like a rabbit in headlights for a couple of minutes before I reconciled what I did next. It was stretching the boundaries of my experience.'

BBM For Android And iOS Will Remain Free

After the initial roll out was plagued with issues, BlackBerry tried its luck once again last week and rolled out BBM for Android and iOS. The second time around, the launch went smoothly. BlackBerry was also quick to abolish to waitlist after launch so that users could get immediate access to the messenger, which is now finally cross-platform. At this point in time, the BBM app for Android and iOS is available for free. Executive vice president of BBM at BlackBerry, Andrew Bocking, confirms that the service will remain free in the future. Though that doesn’t mean BlackBerry won’t monetize it. Bocking says that they have “other ideas” to monetize BBM on Android and iOS. He also promised the release of a couple of new features, which are exclusive to BBM on BlackBerry right now, for other platforms “within months.” These features include video and voice chats. BBM Channels, a social networking feature, is also expected to come on other platforms soon. The feature lets users gather followers and share content with them, BlackBerry may monetize it through advertising and marketing, Bocking says. BBM on Android and iOS is off to a good start. The app garnered over 10 million downloads initially, and continues to sit in the top charts of free apps. Things seem to be looking up at least for one part of BlackBerry.

$15m Ibori bribe money belongs to FG •Court tells Delta govt

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday ordered the forfeiture to the Federal Government of the $15 million allegedly offered by the former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to influence his investigation.

The state government had taken the anti-graft agency and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) before the court laying claim to the said money.

But delivering his judgment in the protracted legal tussle, the presiding judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole, said the state government failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the money belonged to it, and that “it is appropriate, given factual circumstances of this case, that final order of forfeiture to the federal government be made.”

He further held that the claimant did not constitute any audit panel or public inquiry to trace and show how the unclaimed $15 million was pilfered from its coffers.

A 14-year-old boy was last night feared dead after being swept into the sea

A 14-year-old boy was last night feared dead after being swept into the sea while playing in the surf in rough weather conditions.

The unidentified youngster disappeared from West Beach at Newhaven, East Sussex, at about 4.15pm yesterday afternoon.

Rescue teams, including a coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboat, scoured the area in what were described as ‘atrocious conditions’ with poor visibility.

The Newhaven Lifeboat said at 9.45pm that all teams searching for the boy had been stood down for the night by the coastguard.

A spokesman for the team said on Twitter: 'Our thoughts go to the boy's family and friends at this sad time.'

The teenager was playing with friends when the incident occurred. They were not swept off and are safe.

Million-year data storage disk' revealed

A hard disk that can store date for a million years - and survive being barbecued - has been unveiled by nanotechnologists.
The optical storage disk that is designed to outlive humanity has been developed by Jeroen de Vries at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
Current hard disk drives have the ability to store vast amounts of data but last roughly ten years at room temperature, because their magnetic energy barrier is low so that the information is lost after a period of time.
De Vries' 'million year disk' is written using etching techniques, and is made of tungsten - used for its ability to survive extreme temperatures - and then covered in silicon nitride.
He tested its ageing abilities by frying, barbecuing and torching it, showing its energy barriers are high enough to prevent heat loss.

chinese couple sold baby for iphone

A young Chinese couple are facing many years in jail after allegedly selling their baby daughter to raise money for an iPhone and other luxury goods.
The couple, identified only as Miss Zhang and Mr Teng, are said to have placed anonymous advertisements in newspapers suggesting they would be willing to part with their baby - unborn at that stage - in exchange for 50,000 yuan (about £5,000).
Police in Shanghai have charged the couple with human trafficking after accepting money for the baby, who was born at home and still only weeks, or months old, when sold.
Having received the money, which was deposited in their bank account, the couple went out on a spending spree, using part of the proceeds to buy an iPhone, State media reported today.
The unemployed couple, who have two other children, were also accused of using the money to purchase a number of

women blow £400,000 a day playing Candy Crush, the most addictive online game ever

How women blow £400,000 a day playing Candy Crush, the most addictive online game ever

As Lucy Berkley hobbled into her London office one Monday morning in June, her colleagues could clearly see she was struggling with back pain.

The 44-year-old company director shuffled over to her desk and waited for questions to be fired in her direction. Had she picked up a large piece of furniture? Overdone it at the gym? The real answer was slightly more embarrassing.

'I'd just discovered Candy Crush and had been playing it for more than ten hours over the weekend,' says the mother-of-one from Ashford, Kent.

'My back became strained because I'd been hunched for so long over my iPad. I couldn't help it, it was so addictive. The extraordinary thing was that almost everyone else in the room admitted they too were addicted. Now we're all competing.'

Unlike so many online games, it doesn't involve killing, fighting or strong male characters or highly-sexualised female characters. What's more, it's deceptively simple and fun.'

The rules of Candy Crush are indeed simple. Players move a variety of brightly coloured sweets - or candies - around a grid and line up at least three of the same sweet in a row.

Every time a row is completed, the line explodes, making way for more sweets to drop in.

Is global educational system been politiced? find out why England teachers embark on strike today

I was forced to ask myself: what is global education system turning into? Has it been politicized or some persons are representing themselves as anti-educationist, manipulating the system to failure. Is almost 100 days now that Nigerian university students are been forced out of school due to government insensitivity to manage the resources and teaching aid infrastructures. If you would ask me, the fees and other development levies paid by these students, which of the account is it going to?
Now,teachers in England commence theirs today....find out why

Teachers' strike: Q&A
Up to half of state schools in England have been forced to close today because of a major teachers' strike. Here is a Q&A explaining the background.

 Why are teachers on strike?
The strike is part of ongoing row with the Government over pay, pensions and working conditions.
The teachers are opposed to plans to allow schools to link their salaries to performance in the classroom.
The unions behind the action, the National Union of Teachers and the NASUWT, argue that changes to pensions will meanwhile leave their members working longer, paying in more and receiving less when they retire.
They also accuse the Government of attacking teachers’ working conditions, including introducing reforms that will allow schools to have longer school days and longer terms.
How much support is there among teachers for the industrial action?
The two unions represent 90% of teachers between them.
Chris Keates, general secretary of the NASUWT, says the "overwhelming majority" of teachers in the four regions affected - the North East and Cumbria, the South West, South East and London - will be on strike.
More than 10,000 schools in England could be affected.

African migrants on raft bound for Europe as it emerges 20,000 may have died in past two decades

These are the shocking images of hundreds of migrants making the dangerous journey from Africa to Europe cramped into a tiny raft.
Humanitarian agencies believe around 20,000 lives have been lost in the last 20 years, as men, women and children cross the Mediterranean sea to escape persecution in their home countries.
The incredible footage released by the Italian Navy shows the risks these individuals take as they take on the perilous 70-mile stretch of water between the north African coast and the Sicilian island of Lampedusa.
More than 30,000 migrants arrived in Italy and Malta in the first nine months of 2013, compared with 15,000 in all of 2012, according to the U.N. refugee agency, with many fleeing dictatorship in Eritrea and civil war in Syria.
Thousands then move into northern Europe's

Texas man arrested after faking his own

I don't know if I'm right dear readers but the truth is, being yourself is the best option to live a pleasant life.
A man faked his own kidnapping in front of his terrified wife so he could spend the night boozing with pals.
Rogelio Andaverde 'arranged' for two masked men to grab him from his home in Edinburg, Texas.
His horrified wife watched as he was dragged at gunpoint from the house and driven away.
She called cops, who launched a hunt for the 34 year old.
Andaverde's wife spent more than five hours with police being interviewed as police searched for the kidnap victim, according to KTVI.
Her husband returned home the following day and said his kidnappers 'just let him go.
Police became suspicious of his story and he later confessed he made up the story because he wanted a night out with friends without his wife.
Two friends had posed as his abductors wearing masks to hide their faces and carrying guns.
'We took this incident very serious because of

Bride stuns wedding guests by letting her husband shave off all her hair an hour after ceremony in aid of Cancer Research

A bride stunned her wedding guests by allowing her husband to shave off all her hair in aid of Cancer Research just an hour after tying the knot.
Roxy Greaves, 31, and her husband Mick, 30, decided to make a statement on their wedding day in Sheffield to raise money for the charity.

The couple who live in Swallownest in Yorkshire, have both lost relatives to the disease.

Just an hour after saying 'I do', Mr Greaves took a razor to his new wife's head in front of 80 stunned guests.

Mother-of-two, Roxy said: 'I always wanted to shave my head for cancer research since I was 16, but I was certain that it should be on a memorable day.

'I thought about it for a long time, but earlier this year I said 'that's it - I'm doing it on my wedding day'.

I told Mick and asked whether it was alright with him. He said there was only one condition - that I had hair for our wedding vows.

'Mick said he prefers me with long hair, but I'm beautiful in his eyes and I can do whatever I like.'

The couple met on an online dating site in 2010. After chatting for several months, Roxy, originally from Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, invited Mick to visit her.

Missing episodes of Doctor Who from 1960s found gathering dust in a cupboard in Nigeria

Nine long-lost episodes of Doctor Who which have not been seen since the 1960s have been recovered after they were tracked down to a store room in Nigeria, gathering dust.
The discovery will cause much excitement for devotees of the long-running series, for which there are dozens of missing episodes dating back to its early years
The previously lost nine shows were among 11 traced to a television relay station and the find brings back to life an entire six-episode story, while another is almost complete.
The newly found programmes - which introduce the character of Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart, better known to audiences as The Brigadier - will be available on iTunes from today and will later come out on DVD.
Phillip Morris, the director of Television International Enterprises Archive, unearthed the programmes by looking up the records of overseas shipments of tapes made by the BBC.
The stories, The Enemy Of The World (1967) and The Web Of Fear (1968) and both starring Patrick Troughton as the second Doctor, have now been remastered by BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm.
Mr Morris said: 'I remember wiping the dust off the masking tape on the canisters and my heart missed a beat as I saw the words Doctor Who. When I read the story code, I realised I'd found something pretty special.'
Only one episode of The Enemy Of The World - which featured Deborah Watling as companion Victoria and Frazer Hines, later to find fame in Emmerdale as Jamie - had remained in the archives, so the addition of programmes one, two, four, five and six have completed the story.
Fiona Eastwood, director of consumer products, BBC Worldwide, said: 'We are thrilled with the recent discovery of The Web Of Fear and The Enemy Of The World and we're very happy to be launching re-mastered versions of these treasured episodes to fans as we celebrate the 50th year of Doctor Who.'
The BBC still had the first edition in the Web Of Fear story, and the new finds mean only number three is missing. The tale introduced Nicholas Courtney as Lethbridge-Stewart, who began with the rank of Colonel but later became Brigadier.

Husband 'murdered his wife then...............

A husband killed his wife by pushing her down the stairs and putting a skipping rope next to her body to make it look like an accident after she discovered he was having an affair, a court has heard.

The body of Louise Evans, 32, was found in the hallway at her home in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, after neighbours heard her scream followed by an 'almighty bang'.

Her husband, Alan, is alleged to have pushed his wife of 12 years and then smothered her as she lay unconscious in the early hours of July 10 last year.

By the time paramedics arrived at the couple's semi-detached house the mother-of-three’s body was already cold and she was in the early stages of rigor mortis, Worcester Crown Court heard.

She is supported by at least two other men – one creating a distraction on the other side of the man, and another sitting on the floor begging as he keeps an eye out for police.

Libya asks US for explanation over arrest of al-Qaeda leader

Libya has asked the United States for "clarifications" regarding the abduction in Tripoli of an al-Qaeda leader linked to the 1998 US Embassy bombings in East Africa, adding that Libyan nationals should be tried in their own country.

The government's reaction came a day after US special forces captured Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, known by his alias Anas al-Libi, in a raid. Al-Libi is on the FBI's most-wanted list with a $5 million bounty on his head.

In a statement, the government said it "contacted the American authorities and asked it to present clarifications" regarding the al-Libi abduction. It also said it hoped the incident would not impact its strategic relationship with the United States.

Saturday, the US Army's Delta Force, which has responsibility for counterterrorism operations in North Africa, carried out attacks in Somalia and the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

The attacks struck Islamic extremists who played a role in the bombings of the US Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, on August 7, 1998, that killed more than 220 people.

Streets of Basel paved with gold: 15 TONS of five cent coins are dumped on

For years it's long been regarded as one of Europe's richest countries.

And judging by these photos, they really have got money to throw about - and can even pave the streets with gold.

But the cash so freely splashed was with five-centime pieces - and the reason behind the move was to demand a minimum income for Swiss households.

As Europe continues to struggle with financial turbulence and unemployment, activists in Switzerland have decided to take a stand and demand a basic income to each citizen on a monthly basis.

Activists piled 8 Mio five-centime pieces, one representing each citizen in Switzerland, in the safe room of the 'Basler Volksbank' bank building, in Basel, Switzerland.

Then the team from 'Generation Basic Income Initiative' dumped the 15 tons of money in front of the parliament building in Bern, the capital of Switzerland.

The initiative aims to have a minimum monthly disposal household income of CHF 2,500 (US$ 2,700) given by the government to every citizen living in Switzerland

Enno Schmidt, founder of Generation Basic Income Initiative, says he wants government to implement an unconditional basic income (UBI), Ruptly.TV reported.

His organisation presented 130,000 signatures to Parliament urging them to pass a law guaranteeing a basic income of CHF 2,500 for all Swiss nationals.

The Swiss Parliament must address or hold a referendum over any issue which has gathered more than 100,000 signatures.

According to Schmidt the Swiss government is angry 'because now they have to look into this initiative'.
He went on to clarify that the goal of the initiative is 'not to make people equal' but instead 'to give people the right of life in an economical way'.

According to The Richest, Switzerland does not have a minimum wage written into law.

It does have bargaining arrangements between its workers and management and covers the majority of the working population.

The founder and Daniel Häni both made The Basic income, a cultural impulse that praises the idea of a Basic income.

The movie, directed by and Enno Schmidt, was released in 2008 and has been translated into more than ten languages including English, French, Slovak and Finnish.

The Old Bailey heard how he punched and kicked the victim, stamping on his head as he lay on the ground.

Photo of First Muslim Body Builder

Do you ever thought of this?
When amateur boxer Zack ‘King’ Khan was forced to give up because of an injury, he decided to concentrate on his hobby of weightlifting.

The talented 33-year-old from Sheffield was soon asked to enter competitions, and at 29 he won the International Federation of Body Builders title, making him Britain's first Muslim professional bodybuilder.

Now Khan, who observes the laws of his Islam faith and who says he has never missed Friday prayers, makes a living travelling the world competing and performing.

He says the hardest challenge of combining his faith and his career comes during Ramadan, when he has to consume the 5,000 calories he needs each during the hours of darkness.

Khan, who weighs 310lbs when he's at fighting weigh, said: 'Adapting my profession for my religion is something which has just become second nature to me now.

'Every day I need to have 5,000 calories so I have at least eight meals a day, but this is difficult during Ramadan.
