Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, Honourable Minister of State for Works,now interim Minister of National Planning Commission was born on 20th March, 1962 in Gusau town of Zamfara State.
He attended Tudun Wada Primary School, Gusau, between 1968-1974 and proceeded to Sardauna Memorial College between 1974-1979. He further attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, School of Basic Studies between 1979-1980 and then later proceeded to the City Commercial College, London, United Kingdom, where he obtained Higher National Diploma in Business Management, from 1980-1982. He further went to the Lincoln University, San Francisco, where he acquired a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) between1982-1984. Also, in 1999, he went to the American University, Cairo, Egypt, where he earned a certificate in Arabic studies.
Before venturing into politics, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda held various positions in the organized private sector. He was a Director in the defunct Gamji Bank of Nigeria, between 1987-1989. He also served as a Director in Sokoto State Science and Technical Education Board and C.E.O. of Yuguda Group; and served as a Council member, National Health Insurance Scheme between 2006-2007.
Ambassador Yuguda was the Zamfara State coordinator of the Yar’adua/Jonathan ticket in 2007 and also a member of the PDP Presidential Screening Panel in 2010.
Ambassador Bashir Yuguda served as the Nigerian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar between 2008-2011. He was appointed the Honourable Minister of State for Works, Federal Republic of Nigeria, on July 11th, 2011.
Ambassador Bashir Yuguda is married with children.
